Vehicles in German City Found Covered with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police stated they were alerted by a resident who noticed a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored liquid

Around 50 vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.

Officers state they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored liquid.

The fluid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then found multiple other marked vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police report initial examinations indicate the liquid was most likely human blood.

"Currently there is no lead as to its source; authorities are not yet informed of any harm in connection with the event," they commented.

Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the community for details.

An important official said the vandalism left him stunned and required to be solved promptly.

"This incident hits the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he posted on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine people by a assailant focusing on people of foreign heritage in February 2020.
